The mouth-blown Aquitaine absinthe fountain is designed to have it's bottom bowl filled with water and the top, ice. As the ice melts, it keeps the bottom bowl cold. Made entirely from borosilicate glass. Bowls are clear. Using An Absinthe Fountain

During the Belle Epoque, Absinthe Fountains were brought to your table so you could prepare your absinthe to your taste. Absinthe fountains are by far the best way to properly louche an absinthe as you have precise control of the drip rate of the water.

Using A Fountain: Add approximately one ounce of absinthe to your glass. A quality absinthe will usually provide the best louche at a 1:3 to 1:5 ratio. Place your Absinthe Spoon on top of your glass and a sugar cube on the spoon. Position your glass so the water drips over the cube. Turn the spigot on the fountain to your desired drip rate. A steady drip to a slow stream is preferred.

As water is added to the absinthe, the alcohol concentration falls allowing the release of herbal oils and aromas held in concentration by the high alcohol content of absinthe. The herbal oils form the louche lending a milky white, opalescent appearance to the drink.

Remember: Always use ice cold, pure water for the best tasting drink.

I completely love this piece. I use it for a vodka infuser and it is so beautiful when filled. Customer service was great. I needed more info on the product and all my questions were answered with one phone call. Great staff, fast shipping and an awesome product. I will recommend to all.

I don't write reviews often but had to comment on the quality of service I received. I live in Australia so I emailed asking to contact me on skype. I later realized there was 10 hours time difference - sorry! I had many questions as I didn't want to pay for shipping if this wasn't exactly what I wanted. They answered all of my questions and I decided this was what I was looking for. Shipping was very fast and all arrived intact thanks to the double boxes and safe packaging. Whenever I order online I worry about shipping damage but this package was virtually bullet-proof. I also want to say that this is a replacement fountain for one I bought from ebay. The pictures look the same but this glass is much clearer almost like crystal. It is lighter than my other fountain too! I would never have known there is such a noticeable difference in glass quality from one site to the next. Overall, a fabulous buying experience and I will certainly recommend absinthe on the net to all my friends interested in absinthe.
