Using An Absinthe Fountain

During the Belle Epoque, Absinthe Fountains were brought to your table so you could prepare your absinthe to your taste. Absinthe fountains are by far the best way to properly louche an absinthe as you have precise control of the drip rate of the water.

Using A Fountain: Add approximately one ounce of absinthe to your glass. A quality absinthe will usually provide the best louche at a 1:3 to 1:5 ratio. Place your Absinthe Spoon on top of your glass and a sugar cube on the spoon. Position your glass so the water drips over the cube. Turn the spigot on the fountain to your desired drip rate. A steady drip to a slow stream is preferred.

As water is added to the absinthe, the alcohol concentration falls allowing the release of herbal oils and aromas held in concentration by the high alcohol content of absinthe. The herbal oils form the louche lending a milky white, opalescent appearance to the drink.

Remember: Always use ice cold, pure water for the best tasting drink.

A very fine Absinthe Fountain that's just the right size for two. It's extremely well made and sturdy, definitely something that will last a lifetime. The glass is nice and thick, not thin and cheap like others are made. I'm very pleased with my purchase and Tony is a star with help and support.

So very happy with this set. Shipping was fast and package was prepared professionally with more than enough packaging to prevent breaking stuff. I thought free shipping would take a long time but it was only 4 days. Put it together in about 10 minutes. This is really an absinthe party in a box. Will surely recommend Tony to my friends he was great to work with with. In all extremely pleased.

I couldn't be happier with the set.  We gave this as a gift to friends as an anniversary gift.  Of course we opened it and assembled right away with no tools required.  Add ice, water, drip some Absinthe through the supplied sugar cubes and we were in business.  Very pleased and would recommend to friends.
