During the Belle Epoque, Absinthe Fountains were brought to your table so you could prepare your absinthe to your taste. Absinthe fountains are by far the best way to properly louche an absinthe as you have precise control of the drip rate of the water.

Using A Fountain: Add approximately one ounce of absinthe to your glass. A quality absinthe will usually provide the best louche at a 1:3 to 1:5 ratio. Place your Absinthe Spoon on top of your glass and a sugar cube on the spoon. Position your glass so the water drips over the cube. Turn the spigot on the fountain to your desired drip rate. A steady drip to a slow stream is preferred.

As water is added to the absinthe, the alcohol concentration falls allowing the release of herbal oils and aromas held in concentration by the high alcohol content of absinthe. The herbal oils form the louche lending a milky white, opalescent appearance to the drink.

Remember: Always use ice cold, pure water for the best tasting drink.

All glass felt a bit fragile for us, if you have cats I would not recommend!  The glasses were also much larger than expected, I should have checked the stats.  Almost pint glass in size and sturdy, they would be for the true absinthe lover!

GREAT customer service, owners are knowledgable, nice, and helpful.

This is a great entry level fountain with a modest design.  Works very well and, will last a lifetime with proper care. Packed very very well and lightening fast shipping.  Customer service is excellent.

Very well made and the two spout size fountain is just right for me. It arrived undamaged, although I would prefer a different form of packing for the shipping carton with something other than the static clingy Styrofoam packing peanuts. Although they did their job to protect the glassware items, they were incredibly difficult to get off. They stuck to everything, mostly me. That is the reason I only gave it 4 stars. The fountain itself is worth all five stars. (Just lose those miserable to deal with packing peanuts.)

If you're going to drink absinthe, you have to drink it right. Everything you need is right here. The set was packaged very well and arrived safely. Everything worked perfectly and made the absinthe drinking experience even better. Highly recommended!
