Un Aquitaine Single Spout fountain is designed to have it's top bowl filled with ice. As water is poured through, it is chilled and held in bottom bowl. As the ice in the top melts, it keeps the bottom bowl cold. Mouth blown crystal. Ships from inside USA - no problems with shipping damage, returns, exchanges etc. Imported from Europe. 21 in. tall, 8 in. table to spouts, holds 1800 ml (900 ml x 2).

During the Belle Epoque, Absinthe Fountains were brought to your table so you could prepare your absinthe to your taste. Absinthe fountains are by far the best way to properly louche an absinthe as you have precise control of the drip rate of the water.

Using A Fountain: Add approximately one ounce of absinthe to your glass. A quality absinthe will usually provide the best louche at a 1:3 to 1:5 ratio. Place your Absinthe Spoon on top of your glass and a sugar cube on the spoon. Position your glass so the water drips over the cube. Turn the spigot on the fountain to your desired drip rate. A steady drip to a slow stream is preferred.

As water is added to the absinthe, the alcohol concentration falls allowing the release of herbal oils and aromas held in concentration by the high alcohol content of absinthe. The herbal oils form the louche lending a milky white, opalescent appearance to the drink.

Remember: Always use ice cold, pure water for the best tasting drink.

Everything in my order was very well packaged - paper inside bubble wrapped inside packing peanuts. A red mark on each piece of tape for easy unwrapping is a nice touch. Everything as decribed and better! Thanks you

Love the complete set at such a good price. I am slightly disappointed that I had to pay extra custom fee upon delivery. Shipping and customs cost more than the set.

Quite nice especially for the price. I wanted a single tap fountain but didn't want to spend too much. It is easy to clean, store and is very functional. Shipping was really fast and packaging was professionally done.

This is my first purchase here and I am very happy. Everything was perfect from the triple wrapped packaging to the fast shipping and communication from the seller. This fountain is so much nicer than my old one the difference is night and day. The glass is crystal clear and beautiful with more detail and the price is the best I could find.
